Mission + Compassion

"God doesn't have a mission for God's church, God has a church for God's mission." - A. Hirsch

Salvation army Ellwood City Unit

The Salvation Army Ellwood City Unit is a volunteer-led unit, blessing our neighbors by helping with electric / gas / water bills, rent assistance, as well as clothing and grocery vouchers. Call or text the Salvation Army Ellwood City at 724-691-8012

The rummage sale at Bell Church provides clothing and goods to the community at minimal cost. It’s also a connecting point for our neighbors, the borough, and the people of Bell Church. Doors open at 9am on April 2nd.

Community Garden

The gardens are located on Bridge Street at Holy Redeemer Social Services and the fresh produce from the garden supply the HRSS food bank. Bell Memorial tends two garden beds. The beds themselves were made by Doug Schroth. Bell would like to adopt more garden beds. Each bed requires seven-day-a-week watering throughout the summer.

YMCA Meal Program at Walnut Ridge

During the Summer (June 13 - August 15) Bell blesses small neighbors by serving a hot meal on a Wednesday night. We meet at 4:30pm at the Walnut Ridge Community Center. We also get to know the kids better, make crafts, and clean up by 6pm.

Greet & Treat | trick or treat night 2019

Every year at Halloween, we get to know our neighbors by holding a Greet & Treat on the front lawn of Bell, offering candy to kiddos and a respite for tired adults. Right now we are collecting candy. Lots and lots of candy. The more candy the better. Would you donate candy? A collection box is in the foyer.

Holy Redeemer Social Services

We support our local food bank, the Holy Redeemer Social Services Collection bin in the foyer. The first Thursday of the month, HRSS invites volunteers to stock and organize the food pantry.

Samaritan's Purse provides gift boxes for children nationally and internationally at Christmas. Bell Church is one of many churches that purchases toys, hygiene items, and school supplies to fill the shoeboxes. Sunday, September 30th, gift boxes will be available to take home and begin filling with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Collection Sunday is November 11th.
